What issues ate typically addressed in an intensive?
EMDR Intensives are well-suited for working through experiences and patterns that feel stuck, overwhelming, or deeply rooted. This may include:
- Relational trauma, including experiences of emotional, psychological, or physical harm within close relationships
- Religious or spiritual trauma, including shame, fear, or identity disruption tied to belief systems
- OCD-related rumination, particularly intrusive thought loops that feel difficult to disengage from
- Perfectionism and anxiety, including chronic self-pressure, over-responsibility, and fear-based patterns
- Misophonia, especially when emotional and physiological responses are linked to past experiences or heightened sensitivity
What Can I expect in an intensive?
All EMDR Intensive Packages include:
- A thorough intake and prep session
- One or more extended EMDR sessions (half-day or full-day options)
- A personalized post-intensive integration plan
- Optional follow-up sessions for continued support
- A complementary workbook for additional support outside of sessions
If I receive therapy from another therapist, can I do an intensive?
Yes — many people choose to do an EMDR Intensive alongside their ongoing therapy.
Intensives can complement your existing work by targeting specific memories, patterns, or issues that feel stuck or would benefit from more focused, accelerated processing. When appropriate, coordination with your primary therapist can help support continuity of care and integration after the intensive.
The goal is not to replace your current therapy, but to deepen and move forward parts of your work more efficiently.
